  • Mission Statement

    The TECHConnection at Family Resource Associates is a New Jersey non-profit agency located in Shrewsbury, helping children, adolescents and people of all ages with disAbilities to reach their fullest potential. FRA connects individuals to independence through modern therapies and advanced technology. Acknowledging the powerful influence of the family, we remain committed to them by offering both support and education. FRA assists individuals of all ages who have developmental delays or disAbilities as well as acquired disAbilities. FRA provides home-based early intervention for infants, therapeutic recreation programs family and sibling support groups, and Assistive Technology Services through their TECHConnection program. TECHConnection @ FRA offers programs and services that can make using the computer easier for people of all abilities and ages by providing assistive technology solutions. The TECHConnection also offers many other services such as a community demonstration lab for assistive and educational technology, assistive technology and augmentative communication evaluations, professional workshops, lending library, computer classes and a computer recycling and donation program. We accept computers and a team of volunter technology experts makes sure the computers are reformatted to wipe the computer memory clean, makes sure there are no viruses and repair minor components of the computer. Once a computer becomes ready we then donate it to a child or family member with a disability. We have an on-going waiting list for computers.
  • Project Abstract

    We provide computers to families with a child or family member with a disability. This is a free service to the community. We have a team of volunteers that work on incoming computers to make sure they are in good working order, reformat and virus check them and make minimal repairs. Once a computer is ready we give them to the family that is on our waiting list.
  • Target Population

    Our target group is people with disabilities of any age including babies. We typically donate about 40 computers annually. This is a volunteer program.
