Byte Back’s mission is to improve economic opportunity by providing computer training, access to technology, and career preparation for low-income residents of the Washington, DC metro area.
First Time Technology (FTT) helps bridge the digital gap by providing refurbished computers to Byte Back graduates* and low-income individuals. We also provide computer repair and support services to DC residents and nonprofits. This work is an important component of our A+ Certification program as students serve as interns, giving them valuable hands-on experience in troubleshooting and computer repair.
Our target population include:
Byte Back graduates
Individuals that make below $2,000 a month in income or no income.
Individuals that receive EBT/SNAP, SSI disability, TANF, and unemployment.
Last fiscal year over 400 people received a computer from us.
