Linking Disabled Veterans to IT Futures
A donation program to help America's heroes enter the workforce

The National Cristina Foundation is pleased to announce the launching of an initiative to direct donations of refurbished computers from corporations and the public to support IT training and career development of servicemen and women who were injured and are returning to civilian life.
Research has shown that a large percentage of veterans with disabilities have used computers while on active duty. Yet, upon their return home, they are frequently unemployed! We believe that after their injuries are addressed through treatment and rehabilitation many can be assisted in achieving IT Futures through a special Information Technology training program. IT certifications are often needed to demonstrate to employers how skills and knowledge gained in the military translate to the corporate sector.
In alliance with CompTIA, the Computing Technology Industry Association, the National Cristina Foundation will provide donations of appropriate computer technology necessary for the servicemen and women to access the IT training, certification and job placement services offered by CompTIA’s Educational Foundation’s Creating Futures program. This program will enable disabled veterans who are ready for employment to participate in on-line training, certification test prep and mentoring that will give them the skills they need to meet IT Industry agendas.
CompTIA, is the leading association representing the international technology industry. In addition to several important roles, it serves the IT industry as the world's largest developer of vendor-neutral IT certification exams. Experts and industry leaders from the public and private sectors, including training, academia and government work with CompTIA to develop broad-based, foundational exams that validate an individual's IT skill sets.
We urge corporations and the public to join us in this important effort
To donate computer(s) to link disabled veterans to a range of new IT options for greater independence and skills development.
