Our Core Values

  • The rapid rate of computing technology roll over creates a virtual inventory of millions of "outgrown" computers representing years of remaining functional use.
  • Computing and related technology coming out of its first place of use can be relocated from a place where it has little value, because it is no longer needed, to a place of great value to be given a second productive life.
  • Access to the appropriate computing technology to develop the potential of people with disabilities, at risk students and economically disadvantaged people can mean independence, employment and the ability to lead a more productive life.
  • Planned reuse of technology to put abilities to work has both important economic and societal benefits. Human capital and technology resources are too valuable to waste.
  • Technology reuse can play a significant role in helping to "Link Life to its Promise."

Our Primary Goals

To promote the Reuse of computer and related technology to the corporate and wider community worldwide as an important support to the social and economic health of communities by:

  • Building awareness and strategic alliances within the business community about the National Cristina Foundation's turnkey solutions for computer reuse. These solutions can be applied in domestic or international locations.
  • Continuing to provide solutions that will fulfill corporate social responsibility agendas while providing effective and cost beneficial exit strategies for used and surplus computer technology.
  • Promoting computer reuse and the value of donations as a critical stage in product stewardship within the community at-large.

To provide computing technology reuse models to the National Cristina Foundation grassroots partners worldwide to assist them in capacity building for locally managed technology reuse programs we plan to:

  • Increasingly implement a decentralized distribution model across our grassroots partner network for technology donations that are contributed to the National Cristina Foundation.
  • Update the NCF Management Guide (a web based tool) from the version created in 1998. This guide, structured to support the dissemination of the validated Cristina System’s Model for Technology Reuse, has been developed and will continue to evolve based on the broad view and wide experience available from a global perspective.

To further expand the capacity and programs of our Partner Network by linking its members through the Internet for knowledge exchange, collaboration and the sharing of solutions:

  • We will formally establish and launch the Cristina Global Partner Network as a web based internet resource that will increase the usability and effective practice for donated technology distributed throughout the network.
  • Based on feedback from the Cristina Global Partner Network community, the National Cristina Foundation will gain a better understanding of, and will integrate into its web site, toolkits, technical assistance systems and resources to further support computer reuse efforts in multiple local, state, regional and national communities.
