The Hawaii Open Source Education Foundation promotes Free and Open Source Software by accumulating, refurbishing, and donating computer equipment.  They have worked in partnership with the City of Honolulu to install computers in several city parks.   (Yes, that's hard for those of us in some parts of the country to visualize, but they have really done it.)  Their website features a great TV-news video of one of these projects.
