More than 1000 computers donated to Vermont Families
Children's Computer Center logoThe Children's Computer Center Ltd. In Newport, Vermont was founded by Neil Horgan in 1998. Neil himself was disabled in an accident while at work. He found that after being a truck mechanic for 30+ years he was unable to just sit around doing nothing. He began collecting and refurbishing computers, and distributing them to area families. He describes their success in a recent letter….

From his letter:
I just wanted to let you know how important The Cristina Foundation has been to our mission at the Children's Computer Center here in Newport Vermont.

We have to thank you for helping us help others that are in need of what some people take for granted. We have been able to donate more than one thousand computers in the last four years to children and disabled Vermonters that would otherwise not have them due to your assistance in obtaining the computers that we refurbish and then donate to them.

What seems to be the greatest reward doing this is when I am told by a teacher how much the computer that we donated has helped a student. I would like to share the reward with The Cristina Foundation. If not for your help I probably would have had to give up a long time ago.

Being disabled myself I know what it means to many of the people that we help and know that all of our efforts are honestly appreciated. My best wishes to all of the people at the Cristina Foundation that have made this all possible.

Sincerely yours,
Neil Horgan, President and Founder
The Children's Computer Center Ltd.
