Computer store bridges technology gap for seniors and disabled
There are few projects dedicated exclusively to the education of senior citizens and persons with disabilities in the use of computers and other technologies. After working for ten years at Sabre Inc., three years ago David Vaughn leveraged his technology and corporate background to open Computers Made Easy in Fort Worth, Texas. While the initial focus was to offer training to seniors, through the use of adaptive technology, it has grown to include people with disabilities as well. The success of Vaughn's programs speaks for itself, as twelve of his fifteen employees are people with disabilities.

“Whether they’re blind, have low vision, have cerebral palsy or Down syndrome or maybe are autistic, a lot of people just won’t give disabled people the chance,” Vaughan said. “They don’t get past the interview because of their disability. We’re agnostic to that. If it’s the right person for the job, they’re hired.”
